Winter in my Home [Through my Lens Nr. 20]

I love the winter season. It gives me plenty of opportunities to do "cozy things" in my home. From baking to cooking, all the way to decorating and warming up. I'm a fan of snow and the cold (if it's not too harsh), but no matter how much I like them on the outside, the inside of my home has to feel comforting and inviting. That's why I decided to share what lights up the house these days, including the seasonal festive decorations, that shine on deep into the dark of night.

There are two versions of the house right now. One at day and the other by night. I try to keep the place cozy at day, so that it's inviting when I come back home from work. I like to sit under the decorated tree, watch TV and have lunch there. I got some Poinsettias and they are keeping well so far. If you have them too here is a great site that has lots of information on keeping the flowers and how to handle them.

The home is filled with scents of cooking, roasted chicken that is. I have a fool-proof recipe that makes the vegetables and chicken all in one pan. Very delicious. I think I will make a separate post with the recipe. I also made a very easy, sugar-free pink lemonade, that is just so refreshing. Recipe for that will follow soon as well. Here are some images from the kitchen.

When the night come around, the lights get turned on. Beni is trying to keep warm as well, but most of his days are still spent playing outside, since we are having some great weather. At night I light the candles and turn on the decorative lights. I think they really transform the living room.

Now I want to see what you have been up to. Link down below and share with the rest of us!

  6. Your decorations look so festive. I am looking forward to getting back to the USA later this week, even with all its political correctness, it will still feel 10x better than what we've got in SA. We don't even have a Cmas tree up bc it has been delayed in our shipment. :( Happy, happy holidays!

  9. it looks like it is cosy and inviting at your house. Poinsettias! wow! I didn't imagine you would be able to have them in the cold. Such a Christmassy plant which is obviously international. Have a lovely week and thank for you for link up.

    1. I keep them inside. They don't like the cold, but hot weather doesn't suit them either. Luckily here in South Europe the weather is pretty nice.
